This moment. This moment right now, this is our commencement. No, we’ll not get a diploma or degree in any sort. But we are entering a new chapter in our lives. We are stepping into a world that is changed. Our confidence is shaken, our hearts cracked. It’s a kind of crack that comes from the loss of a job, from life plans falling apart. We didn’t ask for it. We didn’t deserve it. But we are rising to meet it. And how far we’ve come isn’t even close to how far we can go. Because let’s be honest, the journey between where you are and where you want to be is far more than six feet. There will be days when you wake up and feel in over your head. Things will go wrong, you’ll stumble, you might fall again. But now you know that you can get through it. Because you got through this. We just have to remember how patient we were. How strong we can be. And remember this, there’s a crack in everything for a reason. How else can the light get in? Tomorrow start today.
