In what could be the largest demonstration since the city's handover to China in 1997, organizers claim more than one million protesters took to the streets of Hong Kong to oppose a controversial extradition bill that would enable China to extradite fugitives from the city.

QUESTIONS:

1. Explain the extradition bill, and discuss why hundreds of thousands of people in Hong Kong are protesting a law to allow extraditions to China.

2. Why do you think the Hong Kong government is pushing the law now?

3. How do you feel about the recent Hong Kong extradition law amendment protests? Will the protest have any effect?
